Arizona Muse

Surrounded by white porcelain,
I'm submerged by what takes my life.

Count down, 3.. 2.. 1...

Clothes slowly soak,
tired eyes, shaky breaths.

Perfect complexion, taken over.
Smudged make-up, dazed expression.

I grasped the side of the tub,
relief in sight.

Desperation is all I've come to.

"What strikes me is the fact that in our society, art has become something which is related only to objects and not to individuals, or life. That art is something which is specialized or which is done by experts who are artists. But couldn't everyone's life become a work of art? Why should the lamp, or the house be an art object, but not our life?" -Michel Foucalt

I agree with this quote because art used to be about representing what was important, and was also a way of expressing yourself. But now its become a way to be seen by the public eye, using objects that they (the public) can relate to, instead of what you yourself can. This relates to everyone's life because every life has its own artistic side to it, and everything can be viewed as a work of art if you want it to be.
